TWENTY-six members of the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) will go to Ilocos for a four-day tour and business mission in the cities of Vigan and Laoag.

Most members of the delegation joined the group that went to Johannesburg and Cape Town, South Africa for a trade mission last 2008 and to Macau last year. The business mission is set today until Aug. 31.

CCCI said that aside from trade missions abroad, the chamber will also explore neighboring cities for possible linkages.

“This will be an opportune time for us to explore the tourism potentials and products of Ilocos Region, as well as to interact and present investment and trade opportunities,” said Cristina Lo of Coast Pacific Manufacturing Corp., chair of the Laoag and Vigan Tour and Business Mission.

The delegation will meet the business sector of Vigan City through a business matching session scheduled on Aug. 29.

Vigan is a third-class city in the province of Ilocos Sur. It is a World Heritage Site and is one of the country’s Hispanic towns. It is well-known for its cobblestone streets and unique architecture that fuses Philippine building design and construction with colonial European architecture.
