FOUR more members of the New People’s Army (NPA) surrendered with their firearms to the Philippine Army, said Philippine Army Captain Rhyan Batchar, 10th Infantry Division spokesperson, during the AFP-PNP press conference Wednesday.

Batchar said the four were already tired of the uncertainties and difficulties in the mountains.

"Meron tayong apat na nag-surrender, ito'y bahagi ng ating programa," Batchar said, referring to their Global Integration Program with the Department of Interior and Local Government.

The Army is urging other NPA members to return to the side of the government, especially with the ongoing peace talks that is happening in Oslo, Norway.

“We are encouraging the group of NPA to surrender because we have a program just for you,” Batchar added.

The four brigades of the 10th ID are continuously conducting a simultaneous peace forum among barangays in Davao Region.

The four brigades who will hold the simultaneous peace forum are the 1001st brigade in Maco, Compostela Valley Province, 1002nd brigade in Davao del Sur, 1003rd brigade in Sto. Tomas and 701st in Davao Oriental.
