CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga -- At least 47 drug personalities voluntarily surrendered to police authorities as Oplan Tokhang was implemented on January 29.

"The surrenderers submitted themselves to police authorities," said Chief Superintendent Amador Corpus, Police Regional Office (PRO)-Central Luzon director.

“We have issued the new guidelines for our Oplan Tokhang a day before our re-launching so the public will fully understand its concept,” Corpus added.

Corpus expressed hope that the public will support the initiative. He said barangay officials are their partners in the campaign.

"This is another chance for those who are still dependent on illegal drugs to surrender voluntarily, go to the police station or seek rehabilitation while we will keep on targeting drug pushers in our anti-drug operations which is apart from Oplan Tokhang," Corpus said.

"Those who were visited the first time but could not be located or refused to surrender will still be given chance, as we always adhere to the Rule of Law and Respect for Human Rights during anti-illegal drug operations and Oplan Tokhang," he added. (Ric Sapnu)
