5th straight UM cagebelles rout Ateneo, 79-45

THE University of Mindanao (UM) extended its winning streak to five games after demolishing Ateneo de Davao University (AdDU) in the women's basketball division, 79-45, in the resumption of the Davao City Collegiate League held at the University of the Immaculate of Conception (UIC)-Bajada campus over the weekend.

UM paced the women's division standings with a 5-0 perfect record, while AdDU suffered its third loss in five outings in the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP)-sanctioned cagefest.

Holy Cross of Davao College (HCDC), meanwhile, crushed San Pedro College (SPC), 97-7.

With the win, HCDC secured its fourth win in five games while SPC suffered its fifth consecutive loss.

In men's side, DMMA College of Southern Philippines (DCSP) toppled Holy Cross of Davao College (HCDC) Crusaders, 85-73, while Agro-Industrial Foundation College of the Philippines (AIFCP) Sailors sank UIC, 75-70.

The St. John Paul College of Davao (SJPCD) demolished San Pedro College (SPC) in men's basketball division, 74-66.

SPJCD will face DCSP in bracket-B men's semis match at 1 p.m., followed by the bracket-A men's clash between the Jose Maria College (JMC) Kings and HCDC on Saturday at the UM-Matina gymnasium.

The cagefest is supported by Smart Telecommunications, ABS-CBN Davao and the city government of Davao through the Sports Development Division of the City Mayor's Office (SDD-CMO).
