ANOTHER motorcycle-for-hire driver was found dead Saturday in sitio Balongis, Barangay Balulang in Cagayan de Oro City.

The victim, identified as Arnel Mose, 47 and a resident of Block 48, Lot 8, Buena Vida, Barangay Lumbia, Cagayan de Oro City, bore a single gunshot wound at the left portion of his nape.

His lifeless body was discovered off the road of Mateo Carcosa compound around 12:20 a.m. by a certain Boyblu Carcosa.

Recovered at the crime scene was an empty shell belonging to a .45 caliber pistol.

Crime scene investigator SPO3 Tony Eblacas said Mose was the fourth motorcycle driver in the city to be robbed and killed.

Like most of the previous victims, Mose was divested of his cash and his Honda XRM red-colored motorcycle taken away, thus prompting the police to rule robbery as the motive behind the killing.

"It's another case of robbery and carnapping. But the worse thing is the perpetrators are calloused they also murdered their victims," Chief Inspector Reynaldo Reyes of the City Investigation and Detection Unit (Cidu).

Reports gathered showed that victim was last seen at the Gaston Park area around midnight on Friday.

There Mose was reportedly approached by two male passengers asking him to take them to Barangay Balulang.

Like in previous cases, the local police authorities found themselves helpless and clueless as to the identities of the assailants.

"Maka-dismaya atong kapulisan sa siyudad. Walay madakpan ug ma-identify mao nga padayon lang permi ang krimen," one colleague of the victims said in frustration.
