Bello named OIC of mayor's office

DAVAO City Mayor Sara Duterte assigned on Monday Councilor Karlo Bello as officer in charge of the City Mayor's Office until Sunday.

Bello was assigned by Vice Mayor Rodrigo Duterte last week as OIC vice mayor thus, now he will have to assign another City Councilor to take said position, the mayor said.

The mayor said she would be taking a leave as she has several appointments in Manila from Tuesday until Sunday.

"One is work for the League of Cities since naa koy duty didto (I have a duty there). Two, I will be meeting three groups interested (in creating) the Convention Center of Davao City. And, I will meet with one group for the Tourism Masterplan of Davao City," Duterte announced in a press conference yesterday.

The mayor was among those elected July 17 as officials of the League of Cities of the Philippines (LCP). She was elected as deputy secretary general for Mindanao.

Vice Mayor Duterte, who was on leave until September 16, appointed Bello as OIC vice mayor in Tuesday last week.

The influential League of Cities of the Philippines (LCP) elected Pampanga Mayor Oscar Rodriguez.

Rodriguez, whose candidacy is supported by President Benigno Aquino III, ran unopposed for the position during the LCP election and general assembly held at Century Park Hotel in Manila. (Jade C. Zaldivar)
