Bodies of 4 Filipinos killed in Haiti arrive in Manila (10:20 a.m.)

THE remains of three military peacekeepers and a United Nations civilian worker killed in Haiti arrive in the country to a hero’s welcome Tuesday morning.

The bodies of Army Sgt. Eustacio Bermudez Jr., Navy Petty Officer Pearly Panangui and Air Force Sgt. Janice Arocena arrived in Manila via a commercial flight past 10 a.m.

President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo headed the giving of full military honors to three fallen soldiers and a UN civilian worker at the Villamor Airbase in Parañaque City.

The three soldiers were working in the UN offices at Christopher Hotel when the Caribbean country was shook by a magnitude 7.0 quake in January.
