DESPITE suffering his first loss in September last year, Highland Boxing Gym’s Jeronil Borres is on the prowl of winning his next match in South Korea on February 11.

The 21-year - old Cagayan De Oro pug is currently in his conditioning training before he steps in the ring against South Korea’s Joo Hyun Jung who has seven wins with three losses and one draw.

The two are set to face off in a 12-round bout for the vacant WBC Eurasia Pacific Boxing Council fly weight title.

Jung recently won the vacant South Korea bantamweight title in October last year against Gwang Shik Na via unanimous decision and also held the South Korea flyweight crown.

Borres meanwhile will try to bounce back from a controversial loss against Richard Claveras for the interim OPBF flyweight title in September last year after winning seven of his last eight bouts that includes a draw.

Borres added he is eager to finish to fight early to avoid another “hometown decision.”

Borres added his next bout brings to him excitement and fear as he travels abroad for the first time.

Coach Roy Sumile meanwhile added his boxer is ready and has been preparing since October last year.
