IN A BID to help lessen electric consumption and provide better lighting system to the Baguio Convention Center, Northern Building Expo donated 20 LED light bulbs received by Councilor Michael Lawana.

Northern Building Expo Architect Cordoviz Carreon said they have donated said LED lights to illuminate the convention center especially during special events.

“We donated 20 100 watts para mas maliwanag ang convention center,” Carreon said.

Carreon said the convention center should be improved particularly the lighting system with the facility home to year round events hosted by the city and other groups.

“Kapag may event dito laging madilim. If we could do something to improve our facility, may be one day ay maayos natin in such a way na maging international standards ulit,” Carreon added.

Carreon added the convention center was built to host international events promoting the city as a tourism and convention hub.

“If I could remember correctly dito hi-nold yung grand chess activity noong panahon ni Imelda Marcos noong siya ay first lady pa. Why not bring it on a higher standard ulit, hindi natin pababayaan, we should continue to take care of what we have,” Carreon said.

Carreon said the group plans to donate more LED lights in some streets in the city.

“Maybe next year puwede naming gawin yun, so isusunod naman naming gawing project,” Carreon said.

Councilor Lawana meanwhile thanked Northern Building Expo for choosing the convention center as one of their beneficiaries during the three day gathering of construction suppliers.
