THE City Council of Bacolod City passed a resolution extending its condolences and grief to the people and government of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, thru the Chinese Embassy in Manila, for the demise of eight Hongkong nationals during the tragic hostage-taking fiasco last Monday.

The said resolution, authored by Councilor Caesar Z. Distrit, expressed Bacolod's sincerest sympathy and condolences to the people and government of Hong Kong and to the families of the victims.

The passage of the resolution followed on the heels of Bacolod City Mayor Evelio R. Leonardia's issuance of Administrative Order No. 1 last Tuesday declaring August 25, 2010 as a day of mourning in memory of the lives lost in the tragic hostage-taking episode on August 23, 2010 at Quirino Grandstand, Manila.
