AN ILONGGO lawyer said yesterday the plan of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) to include a portrait of the late President Corazon ‘Cory’ Aquino in the new P500 bill would depict the real greatness of the Filipinos.

Lawyer Michael Ferrer, whose mother hailed from Bacolod City, Negros Occidental, said yesterday that as an individual Filipino he can’t wait to see the new P500 bill having the late hero couples Cory and Senator Benigno ‘Ninoy’ Aquino Jr. placed on it.

“I can’t wait for it,” said Ferrer who was in Bacolod for a reunion party with co-lawyers. “It’s one of the best things that would happen in this country where we can be witness of how great Cory and Ninoy were especially on what they have done for the Filipinos,” added Ferrer. He is currently based in Davao City as a practicing lawyer.

Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo had approved BSP’s designing of the new P500 bill bearing Cory’s portrait besides Ninoy.

BSP said they are now choosing from the three favorite photos of Cory which they will use as portrait.

Also, the BSP said the Aquino siblings are taking part in choosing the photo to be used.
