Devices eyed to prevent accidents in SRP

John Leo Aljo

TO help prevent road mishaps in the South Road Properties (SRP), Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña plans to buy devices that will track overspeeding drivers.

Osmeña, however, said that majority of the vehicular accidents in the SRP were not caused by going over the speed limit but by reckless drivers.

“People insist on driving recklessly and not following the traffic rules,” he said.

The mayor said that reducing the speed limit is not really a viable option as the Cebu City Transportation Office does not have the equipment to track down violators.
