CEBU CITY -- Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG)-Central Visayas Director Pedro Noval vowed Tuesday to immediately implement the memo banning the names and pictures of politicians from government projects and patrol cars.

Noval said over dyAB radio interview that he received a copy of the memo Monday and will implement the order of DILG Secretary Jesse Robredo as soon as possible.

He earlier said that he agreed with the order, saying the projects and patrol vehicles belong to the government and the taxpayers' money was used.

"It's not proper for politicians to place their photo or name, as if these things belong to them," he said.

With that, Noval said they will start removing the names of politicians from the government vehicles, including police cars, ambulances and fire trucks.

He said he also asked the local government units in Central Visayas to help in implementing the order. (Sunnex)
