DJA teams ax wins

DAVAO Jones Academy (DJA) axed two wins in separate divisions of the Davao Youth Basketball League (DYBL) Ritemed Paramax Inter-School Developmental League that kicked off at the Margarita Gym along J.P. Laurel Ave. in Davao City over the weekend.

DJA made a successful debut in the Cadet A division following a 69-27 rout over the Cabantian National High School. Kervy Mesario sparked DJA with 14 points and five rebounds while he also served as the defensive anchor after posting three blocks and three steals.

DJA followed it up with another victory in the Junior A division after beating the Francisco Bustamante National High School (FBNHS), 63-53. DJA's Raymart Patoy scored game-high 21 points while Jeffrey Dajao of FBNHS made 17.

In another Cadet A game, Jesus Soriano National High School entered the winning column with a rousing 58-11 victory over FBNHS.

The Cabantian National High School (CNHS) also drew first blood by defeating Lamb of God Sped Academy, 64-55, in Junior B category.

Jan Rallos led the charge for CNHS with 19 points opposite LGSA's Jones Zambrano who had 19.

Last Saturday's opening matches were advance games as the grand opening of the cagefest is set on Saturday, June 27, at the Gaisano Grand Citimall SkyGym.

The cagefest is organized in partnership with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Karis Sports Institute and sanctioned by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas Davao Region.
