Dureza: Mindanao facing calamity (11:43 a.m.)

MANILA -- Mindanao Development Authority chairman Jesus Dureza has declared that Mindanao is indeed facing a calamity due to power shortage.

“Mindanao is facing a calamity situation due to an acute and worsening power shortage but government is firmly resolved to address it decisively. A series of actions and options are being looked into by Malacañang to deal with this,” Dureza said in a statement.

Dureza said that Mindanao is already experiencing a shortage of 700 megawatts.
