Government engineer abducted in Jolo

SUSPECTED members of the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) abducted on Wednesday, February 14, a government engineer in Jolo, Sulu.

Joint Task Force Sulu commander Brigadier General Cirilito Sobejana said engineer Enrico Nee of the local Department of Public Works and Highway (DPWH) was forcibly taken around 8 a.m. by the armed suspects who entered his house.

The suspects took the engineer as they fled towards Barangay Anuling in Patikul Sulu on board a red a Tamaraw FX, which was later found abandoned in a nearby area.

Sobejana said the troops immediately established checkpoints in strategic areas in a bid to find the victim. (Third Anne Peralta-Malonzo/SunStar Philippines)
