Gunman in village chief's killing caught

OPERATIVES from the Regional Special Operations Group Central Visayas caught one of the alleged gunmen of Ermita barangay captain Felicisimo "Imok" Rupinta.

Rupinta was ambushed and killed on Thursday evening in Simborio, Tayud, Liloan, Cebu.

The arrested person was identified as Jimmy Largo, an alleged ex-convict who was nabbed on F. Gonzales St., Barangay Ermita, near the Carbon Public Market on Friday evening, November 24.

Jimmy was reportedly the distant cousin of Jessie Largo.

The getaway motorcycle driven by the alleged gunman was also recovered.

Largo was presented at the Police Regional Office-Central Visayas headquarters on Saturday, November 25.

He was positively identified by witness Jocelyn Mendoza, who was emotional as she faced the suspect.

A bounty of P300,000 has been raised by some members of Barug Team Rama for anyone who can provide information leading to the arrest of the assailants of Rupinta. (SunStar Philippines)
