Gunman shot dead Zamboanga gov't official

A LONE unidentified gunman shot dead a City Government official around 7:40 a.m. Tuesday, January 31, along Tugung Street in the village of Marketsite, Isabela City, Basilan province.

Superintendent Jerome Afuyog, Isabela City police chief, identified the victim as Faisal Sadalani, 40, from Guiwan, Zamboanga City. He worked as a legislative officer V in the City Administrator’s Office.

Afuyog said Sadalani had just disembarked from a passenger ferry coming from Zamboanga City and was on the way to his mother’s residence when a lone gunman fatally shot him in the head.

The police are looking into the possibility that the incident is work-related, Afuyog said. ( Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
