Guv pledges vehicle for NegOcc district jail

John Paul Villanueva

CHIEF Inspector Castle Masip, officer-in-charge of Negros Occidental District Jail (NODJ) in Bago City, said on Wednesday the provincial government will provide them additional vehicle.

This development came after he met with Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. at the Provincial Capitol yesterday.

Masip, in a text message to SunStar Bacolod Wednesday, December 6, said he thanked the governor for the support of the province to the NODJ.

“Without the support of the Provincial Government, the NODJ will definitely have difficulty in providing the basic needs of the inmates,” he said.

Masip said he discussed with Marañon their concerns in transporting the inmates from the jail to the courts.

He also reported to the governor the status of the jail and its accomplishments.

Masip said they were glad to know that Marañon appreciated the jail’s initiatives and programs.
