Hotel cited for mentoring skills tilt participants

THE Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda) in Central Visayas recognized Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino (WCCH) for mentoring the victors of the regional skills competition held on Jan. 27 to 30.

Ma. Alyzza Albon of Siquijor and Neriza B. Mahinay of Bohol, winners of the regional skills competition, observed the processes in restaurant services and cookery at WCCH.

With the winners’ desire to stand out at the Philippine National Skills Competition, which took place last April 8 to 11 in Metro Manila, Tesda 7 tapped Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino to allow the contestants for an industry immersion within the hotel premises to gain more experience in the actual workplace.

During the national competition, Ma. Alyzza Albon of Siquijor received an award with distinction for her exceptional performance in the field of restaurant services.

Tesda 7 awarded the certificate of appreciation to the hotel for helping out the representatives from Central Visayas to succeed in their tour trade areas during the competitaion.

WCCH actively participates in such efforts to further strengthen and promote the hospitality skills of budding tourism professionals in the region.
