LA TRINIDAD police are gearing up for the influx of visitors during Panagbenga season.

With the expected spillover of visitors from Baguio City, La Trinidad cops have drawn out its traffic deployment and security plan for tourists who will also opt to visit the different destinations in the town.

With the 2018 Flower Festival opening February 1, La Trinidad chief of police Senior Inspector Benson Macli-ing said they have made plans after experiencing influx of tourists during the flower festival.

Macli-ing added with regards to the traffic plan deployment, the police have tapped Benguet State University’s parking lot to be an alternative parking area and the lot in front of the Commission on Audit is eyed as alternative.

"Considering that Panagbenga is fast approaching, we are looking into schedule of the activities. In the previous year, the traffic reached Km. 3 to the strawberry farms, the parking lots were full. Now we have tap BSU to open its parking area, alternate routes will be opened going to the strawberry farm outlet reaching Pico road or Buyagan road towards the highway. From Baguio City going to the valley, motorists can also opt passing thru the Tam-awan road," Macli-ing said.

The valley top cop are also coordinating with the Baguio City Police Office on the possible cancellation of coding scheme. Signages have also been made available said Macli-ing to guide visitors.

Thousands are expected to visit the Summer Capital with when the street dancing and float parade commence February 24 and 25.

Panagbenga kicked off its opening day ceremonies and parade February 1, following the Baguio Blooms exposition and exhibition. Last year, Baguio registered one million visitors of the annual festival.
