Man arrested, faces gun raps

A MAN is facing charges before the City Prosecution Office when he got arrested for illegal possession of firearms after running amok at corner San Francisco and Sampaguita Streets in Mintal, Tugbok, Davao City Tuesday.

Facing charges of alarm and scandal and illegal possession of firearms is Armando Brtiones Procopio, a 37-year-old public utility jeepney driver and a resident of Concepcion Compound in Matina. He was charged after getting arrested by operatives of Tugbok police.

Police report revealed that at 11 p.m. a certain Ryan Era appeared before the office complaining about a man who fired his firearm in the area. This prompted police officers to check and they saw the suspect figuring in an argument with a certain Letecia Sierra.

Sierra told police that while they were arguing the suspect suddenly pulled out his caliber .38 pistol and fired it on the ground twice. Police then arrested Procopio.

Recovered from the possession of the suspect was one Smith and Wesson caliber .38 pistol with six live ammos. Also recovered from the crime scene were three fired cartridges of the same firearm.

The suspect is currently detained at Tugbok police while the recovered firearm was endorsed to the Philippine National Police Crime Laboratory Davao Region.

The case is being handled by Prosecutor Victoriano Bello Jr.
