Man escapes ‘salvage’ try

TAGUM CITY -- A 30-year-old man escaped death after escaping gunshots in Ferrido Camp, Barangay Mankilam, this city the other morning.

According to the report of the Tagum City Police Office, at 3 a.m., someone attempted to kill Al-jhemar Angeles, married and a resident of Block 22, Lot 4, Cacacho Subdivision, Barangay Mankilam.

Tagum police investigation showed that while the victim was driving his black motorcycle toward the Bagsakan Area of the Public Market, he noticed a motorcycle following him.

Four men were riding tandem on motorcycles that were waiting on the street where Angeles was on.

Sensing danger, he turned around and sped off, but the men followed and shot at him.

He was able to hide in a grassy portion off the road and the men opted not to chase him with the arrival of barangay tanods of Mankilam who heard the gunshots.

The police are currently looking into the victim's background to ientify the motive behind the crime.
