MCCI helps Liloan form biz chamber

AFTER Minglanilla, the Mandaue Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) is now helping the local government of Liloan to organize its entrepreneurs to complement the town’s growth and development.

According to MCCI president Glenn Anthony Soco, the local government of Liloan has sought their assistance to form the Liloan Business Chamber to spur entrepreneurship in their locality.

“This comes very timely, as it complements the economic expansion of Liloan, making it the new frontier for business,” said Soco.

“Liloan is a fast growing local economy. It is now home to a lot of key businesses and developments,” he added.

Liloan is a first-class municipality in Cebu. It is home to a number of ceramics manufacturers who sell a variety of ceramic items, from plant pots to bricks and exotic jars.

It also hosts a number of big-ticket developments like AyalaLand’s Amara and more recently, the P8-billion township project Northside Beacon of Duros Land Property Inc.

Liloan is also home to one of Cebu’s popular delicacies, Titay’s Rosquillos.

Soco sees this initiative as a welcome development and aligned with the thrusts of the Duterte government to activate entrepreneurship in the countryside.

He also sees the move as supportive of Mandaue’s growth, which he said is already lacking land for expansion.

“Mandaue now already lacks land and for it to sustain its growth, it can only expand to neighboring towns,” said Soco.
