Meat magnates cited in 'Bossing Ako' campaign

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Darius and Carlo Dizon of preserved meat products giant Pampanga's Best on Saturday were feted the "Bossing Ako" award for being outstanding entrepreneurs during Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company's (PLDT) "Bossing Ako" SME Nation's campaign.

Established as youngest division dedicated to serve the country's small and medium enterprises (SMEs), PLDT's "SME Nation" paid tribute to 12 entrepreneurs of the country for their determination and patience during its "Bossing Ako" campaign held at the Pampanga's Best plant in Barangay Del Rosario in this city.

According to Jerameel Azurin, PLDT SME Nation marketing head, the campaign aims to help entrepreneurs in their respective careers and endeavors. PLDT SME Nation aims to inspire and empower Filipino entrepreneurs, the PLDT executive said.

Other entrepreneurs cited were Dr. Vicki Belo and Cristalle Henares (Belo Medical Group); Ronald Pineda (Folded and Hung); Jay Aldeguer (Islands Souvenirs); Gardy Cruz (Pansit Malabon Express); Mother Lily Monteverde and Roselle Monteverde (Regal Films); Les Reyes (Reyes Haircutters); Louie and Dulzzi Gutierrez (Silverworks); and Manny V. Pangilinan (PLDT and Burger King).

Offering services that bring to SMEs tools of big businesses and corporations, PLDT SME Nation also launched the "Bossing Ka Ba?" campaign, a search for the country's most valuable entrepreneurs to be known as "MVP Bossing Awards" where the winner will receive a P500,000 cash prize.
