More automation information drive called

LIBERAL Party (LP) senatorial candidates who were in Baguio Wednesday expressed their favor with the automation of the voting process.

However, the LP also reiterated that the Commission on Elections (Comelec) needs to intensify its information and education drive about the election process.

“Automation is our hope for an honest elections,” senatorial candidate Sonia Roco said in a forum Wednesday but she also said that Comelec’s information campaign must be improved.

Other local members of the LP expressed the same view.

Anthony Araos, a candidate for councilor also stressed the need for the training of teachers and added that until now, members of the Board of Election Inspectors have not been trained yet.

In an earlier interview, Comelec Director Julius Torres said they are not rushing the teachers training because there is still enough time before May 10. (Rimaliza Opiña)
