NFA: Rice supply sufficient

Sunnexdesk

THE National Food Authority (NFA) has assured the public that there is enough supply in Negros Occidental and Bacolod City, with no price increase.

NFA-Negros Occidental manager Procopio Trabajo said the rice supply in the province is more stable now compared to the same period this year.

The harvest season has just came and the province is not so much affected by recent typhoons.

He also said that on Monday, 101,000 sacks of rice from Vietnam will arrive in the province.

“Our buffer stock is now good for 89 days, exceeding the required buffer which is good for 15 days,” Trabajo said.

At present, NFA well-milled rice is P32 per kilo while regular-milled rice is P27 per kilo.

Well-milled commercial rice is at P43 to P45 per kilo while regular milled rice is at P38 to P42 per kilo. (TDE)
