Nograles backs Charter change (2:58 p.m.)

MANILA -- Former House Speaker Prospero Nograles, a Lakas-Kampi-CMD member, thinks amendments in the 1987 Philippine Constitution are "long overdue."

"Cha-cha (charter change) is always a resolution that's filed by some congressmen every new Congress cause the need to change many provisions of the charter are obvious. (It is) long overdue," Nograles told Sun.Star.

He issued the statement after former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo filed House Resolution 8 seeking a constitutional convention to propose amendments or revision in the Constitution.
