THE Malacañang frowned Saturday over the health department’s program of giving away condoms.

The said program as the Department of Health’s (DOH) said is to fight the risk of HIV-Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (Aids).

Deputy presidential spokesman Ricardo Saludo said the DOH may be going against the government’s policy of not giving away condoms for contraception.

The Palace official added that the DOH should “review” its program lest it give the wrong impression the government is allowing artificial contraception and sexual licentiousness.

In line with the policy of the Arroyo government, the DOH does not procure condoms and other forms of contraceptives. The agency promotes natural methods of birth control. (JMR/Sunnex)
