Pampanga medical groups vow support to Capitol

CLARK FREEPORT – The Pampanga Medical Society (PMS) and Angeles City Medical Society (ACMS) have vowed to support the health programs of the Provincial Government headed by Governor Lilia Pineda.

Officials of the two medical groups recently met with the governor in this support, expressing to serve patients with Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) cards and assistance from Capitol.

PMS president Mildred Mariano said that their group’s more than 700 members would meet more with provincial government to understand better their respective roles in the cooperative program. Dr. Jose Albert Quintos, president of the ACMS added that its 300 members doctors themselves are willing to serve in private hospitals identified by Capitol.

The governor and First District Board Member Crisostomo Garbo, chairman of the Provincial Board’s Committee on Health, initiated the meeting as reportedly, the Jose B. Lingad Memorial Regional Hospital could no longer handle the huge volume of indigent patients at the Department of Health-run facility in the City of San Fernando.
