THE government has warned the consumers on the possible increase of power rates starting February until June.

This as the government said is due to the continuing low-leveled water in some hydro power plants.

Another reason is the constant maintenance shutdown of power plants using cheaper coal.

Manila Electric Co. (Meralco) will announce Friday the new generation charges for February and said public should anticipate on the increase of power rates on the upcoming bill. (Tashuana Alemania/Sunnex)
