Rap filed for architect's death

CHARGES were filed before the City Prosecutor’s Office against the engineer who allegedly shot dead an architect in Davao City last Saturday.

Facing charges for murder is Rosam Giger Jr., an engineer and a resident of Laverna Hills in Buhangin.

The victim was identified as John Riz Batuto Fortuna, of Door B, RDL Aparment, Vinzon Street, in Barangay 14-B.

Fortuna was shot in front of their apartment around 8 a.m. and died on the spot from eight gunshot wounds.

Earlier Tuesday, Police investigator Police Officer 3 Lendro Tutor, in an interview, said that the complaint was lodged through regular filing Fortuna’s wife, Cherrie who witnessed the incident.

Tutor revealed that prior to the incident Fortuna owed the Giger some P2 million. He added that Giger also had filed a case of Batas Pambansa Bilang 22 (Anti-Bouncing Check Law) against Fortuna.

The two were reported to be former business partners.

As of press time, Giger is still at large. (KGL)
