Saab Magalona mulls filing charges vs attacker

THE lawyers of actress Saab Magalona are preparing to file charges against the unidentified drunk man who beat her at a private party last weekend.

"The case is pushing forward and it's with our lawyers. I appreciate the media for putting it out there and supporting me, but I'd like to keep the details under wraps. I don't want it to be super scandalous naman," told Sun.Star at the sidelines of Yahoo! Celebrity Awards press conference on Wednesday.

The daughter of the late master rapper Francis Magalona said she will pursue the filing of the case as she will not tolerate any form of violence, especially against women.

"There are so many people under the influence, who are alcoholic and cannot control themselves. I'm not for that. You have to answer for your action that is why I'm pushing with the case," she said.

It was earlier reported that the TV personality was beaten up by a drunken guy in a private party organized by music icon Ely Buendia in a hotel in Pasig City.

On her blog, Magalona disclosed that the guy was part of a group of "uninvited guests" and also attacked several attendees in the event.

Saab thanked her fans for their concern and support, but she was surprised by the attention it has generated.

The actress said that she was physically okay but admitted that the incident had traumatized her.

"I'm not in the hospital. I'm okay, I'm doing well. Thankfully the physical damage and injuries were not extensive, but of course the emotional trauma is great. That's the thing I want to fight and I don't want this to happen to anyone else," she said. (Sunnex)
