Sagay streetdance winners named

TRIBE No. 1, composed of clustered barangays Old Sagay, Poblacion 1, Poblacion 2, and Tabao, was declared the grand champion in Sinigay sa Sagay Mardi Gras streetdancing competition Wednesday, at the close of the three-day 18th Sinigayan Festival of Sagay City.

First runner-up Tribe No. 4 composed of barangays Bato, Baviera, Campo Himogaan, Colonia Divina, and Sewahon 1.

Second runner-up was Tribe No. 5 composed of barangays General Luna, Lopez Jaena, Maquiling, Puey, Rizal.

Tribe No. 1 also won as Best in Mardi Gras Costume, while

Tribe No. 4 won three minor awards: Merriest Contingent and Best in Endurance, and Best Mardi Gras Choreography.

Other participants were Tribe No. 2 composed of barangays Paraiso, Fabrica, Tadlong, Malubon, Himogaan and Baybay; and Tribe No. 3 of barangays Bulanon, Plaridel, Vito, Molocaboc, Andres Bonifacio, and Rafaella Barrera.

Rovelyn Elmision of Tribe No. 5 was chosen Mardi Gras Queen 2014, while Brian Despalo of Tribe No. 3 was Mardi Gras King 2014.
