MANILA -- Reigning NCAA men’s basketball champion San Sebastian will try to move past rivals in the win column as it tackles a sliding St. Benilde today, Monday, at the Arena in San Juan City.

The Stags will lean again on a possible monster game from Calvin Abueva, who made an impressive all around performance with 16 points, 15 rebounds, four steals and two assists in a winning rally against Jose Rizal Heavy Bombers last Friday.

“He’s really like that, always playing with a lot of energy and we hope to feed again on his energy,” said San Sebastian coach Ato Agustin, referring to Abueva.

The Taft-based Blazers, on the other hand, are hard-pressed to go back to the winning track after it dropped two consecutive games in the past weeks.

In the other contest, the Generals hope to sustain the euphoria after winning over the Blazers by taking on the Mapua Cardinals in the main game at 4 p.m. (Virgil Lopez/Sunnex)
