STO. TOMAS -- The local police force here received search and rescue equipment from the Municipal Government of Santo Tomas led by Mayor Joselito Naguit as the police sets to prepare for the coming rainy season.

Santo Tomas Police chief John Clark, who received the equipment in simple ceremonies here, said that the support of the municipal government comes in a perfect time as the local police is preparing for its rainy season disaster management plan. Some villages in Santo Tomas get perennially flooded during the rainy season making disaster management a regular thing for the local police.

Clark added that the equipment composed of rescue tools, gears, and medical supplies will greatly help police personnel in disaster and rescue response programs for the town.

"We are very thankful for the support of the municipal government to the local police. We promise to improve our rescue and disaster response programs to fully utilize this equipment," Clark said.

Meanwhile, Naguit said that the municipal government is supportive of its police force, particularly on anti-criminality drive in the town.
