SENATOR Grace Poe remains the top choice of Filipino voters for vice president, according to results of the Second Quarter 2015 Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey released on Wednesday.

Poe, who is also the leading choice to replace President Benigno Aquino III in 2016, according to a SWS survey released last week, is preferred by 21 percent of the 1,200 respondents surveyed last June 5 to 8.

Poe's second quarter rating is five percent lower than her 26 percent voter preference during the first quarter survey.

Local Government Secretary Manuel Roxas II stayed in second place with 12 percent, while Senator Francis Escudero and Vice President Jejomar Binay tied in third place with six percent each.

The survey also included Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada (3 percent), former senator Panfilo Lacson (3 percent), Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago (3 percent), Senator Alan Peter Cayetano (3 percent), Senator Loren Legarda (1.4 percent), Senator Antonio Trillanes IV (1.1 percent), Batangas Governor Vilma Santos-Recto (1 percent), Senator Ferdinand Marcos Jr. (1 percent), Manila Vice Mayor Francisco Moreno (0.7 percent), Senator Ramon Revilla Jr. (0.7 percent), and Sarangani Representative Emmanuel Pacquiao (0.5 percent).

The SWS said eight percent of the respondents had no one to recommend for vice president while 22 percent were undecided on their candidate.

The survey results had sampling error margins of three percent for national percentage and six percent for geographical locations. (With Jan Keanu Plantilla, UST intern/Sunnex)
