Tugbok's Rodriguez scores double kill

UNHERALDED Alexander Rodriguez of Tugbok National High School bagged two titles at the close of the Table Tennis Invitational Competition 2010 held at the Human Kinetics Center of the University of the Philippines Mindanao campus.

Rodriguez defeated Jirehson Catamco of Davao Doctors College, 3-1, in their men's college single finals. The latter placed second instead while Edjan Parre¤o of UP Min came third.

Rodriguez also won on the same note over Ace Novo of the Philippine Science High School for the High School crown. Novo and Leadl Joan Darlo of Marahan National High School finished third and fourth, respectively.

In the college and High School women's event, Emar Learning College bet Lyndell Sellado edged Loren Erika Mendiola of Emar Learning Center, 3-2, for the crown. Mendiola placed second while her schoolamte Issa Lee Darlo finished third.

The men's college doubles title went to UP Min's Leo Godfrey Jao and Parreño. The tandem of Catamco and Harken Sereñoso placed second while Novo and Rodriguez paired for third.

Sellado, however, combined forces with Rechianne Senining to pocket the women's doubles title at the expense of Mendiola-Darlo pair. UP Min bets Norre Jayne Daroy and Dianna Mata took the third spot. (MLSA)
