UPMin's Architecture program maintains 100% passing rate

UNIVERSITY of the Philippines (UP)-Mindanao BS Architecture program maintained its 100-percent passing rate record in the lastest Architect Licensure Examination with ten passers from among its graduates, in comparison to the national passing rate of 51 percent.

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced that 901 out of 1,767 passed the Examination given by the Board of Architecture on June 7 & 9, 2013.

Leading the ten UP Mindanao passers is Jahzeel V. Magdadaro who, with a grade of 84.20, is the sixth-placer in the Exam. The UP-Mindanao BS Architecture program has maintained its 100 percent-passing record since its graduates started taking the exams in 2007.

It produced a fifth-placer in 2010 in Arch. Jeremy Roy A. Sanchez and a second-placer in 2012 in the person of Arch. Alexis Ken S. Cartajenas.

= The UP Mindanao BS Architecture graduates who passed the June 7 and 9, 2013 exam are: Caryn Mae P. Resurreccion, Marie Blanche F. Agunod, Jahzeel V. Magdadaro (84.20 percent, sixth placer), Gizelle Grace D. Ambasan, Camille A. Marzon, Jessa A. Cortel, Lizlee N. Soldevilla, Jane Marie S. Oponda, Karen S. Babia, and Ariel P. Bangcaya. The BS Architecture program likewise has the highest number of freshmen for academic year 2013-2014 with 43 new architecture students.

The UP Mindanao Department of Architecture was officially created in 2012, separating it from its beginnings within the Department of Humanities, as a result of the successes of the program, and is currently headed by Prof. Arch. Jean Marie V. Juanga as department chair. (PR)
