Zamboanga Norte village councilman shot dead

A COUNCILMAN in the village of Lipay in Josel Dalman town, Zamboanga del Norte province was shot and killed by motorcycle-riding gunmen Friday morning, the police reported.

Chief Inspector Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, said the shooting happened around 9 a.m. Friday in the said village.

Galvez identified the victim as Roldan Tadoc, a village councilor of Lipay. He died on the spot.

She said Tadoc was in the village of Lipay when three gunmen aboard on two motorcycles arrived ans shot the official without provocation.

She said the suspects sped off towards the village of Poblacion after the commission of the crime.

She said investigation continues in a bid to establish the motive as well as the identities of the suspects behind the incident.
