10 female victims ‘rescued’ from resort

A TOTAL of 10 female victims, including six minors, were rescued during an entrapment operation inside Villa Alfredo’s Resort in Barangay Baliti, City Of San Fernando, Thursday, May 16.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Lovi Hope Basilio, chief of police of City of San Fernando, said that they arrested during the raid one Benjie Bondoc alyas Ka Benjie, 45, of Sta. Teresita, Angeles City, believed to be the alleged recruiter of the victims.

Basilio said operatives of Women’s Children Protection Center (WCPC) led by Lt. Col. Samuel Mina Jr. of Angeles City; Brig. Gen. William Macavinta, chief of WCPC, raided the said resort and rescued the victims.

The rescued victims are presently under the custody of City of San Fernando for proper documentation while the six minors were turned over to City Social Welfare Department.

Basilio said appropriate charges on Violence Against Women and Children or VAWC (Republic Act 9262) are being readied for filing in court against the suspect. (Ric Sapnu)
