2 drug pushers killed in police operations

TWO notorious drug pushers were killed in two separate drug busts in Pampanga last Saturday, June 16.

Senior Superintendent Nicolas Salvador, Pampanga police acting provincial director, identified the fatalities as Rodel Viray of Barangay San Juan, San Simon, Pampanga and Abelardo Torres Aday, 27, of Bagong Baya, Baliaug, Bulacan.

Viray was killed when he tried to exchange gunshots with the lawmen in Barangay San Juan, Salvador said.

Confiscated from Viray were three sachets of shabu, calibre .38 revolver and P500 marked money.

In a separate incident, the San Luis Police conducted drug bust operation against Aday in Barangay Concepcion, San Luis town.

During the deal, the suspect discovered the presence of policemen.

The suspect engaged in a firefight and later sustained gunshot wounds. He was taken to a nearby hospital but died while undergoing treatment.

Salvador vowed that the Pampanga police will intensify its campaign against illegal drugs. (Ric Sapnu)
