TWO residents of Mabalacat City were arrested recently by the local police for allegedly handling illegal drugs.

The suspects were identified as Marc Lalic, 35, of Barangay San Francisco, and Alejandro Dayrit, 43, of Barangay Camachiles.

Lalic was on board a motorcycle when he was accosted by policemen at a checkpoint in Barangay Mabiga.

The suspect reportedly yielded 0.3 grams of shabu worth P400, said Lieutenant Colonel Heryl Bruno, the city's chief of police.

Dayrit, on the other hand, was arrested in a buy-bust operation, according to Bruno.

One gram of shabu worth P6,800 and P500 marked money were confiscated from Dayrit after the operation, the police chief added.

The two suspects are now facing charges in court for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.

Mayor Crisostomo Garbo lauded the city police for the accomplishment.
