489 Covid-19 deaths in Central Luzon; confirmed cases reach 17,506

CORONAVIRUS-related deaths in Central Luzon have reached 489, as the total number of confirmed cases has climbed to 17,506, the Department of Health (DOH) regional office reported.

Most of the mortalities were from Bulacan province with 241, the highest in Central Luzon. This is followed by Pampanga with 110 cases, Bataan with 51 cases, Nueva Ecija with 31, Zambales with 30, and Tarlac with 26 deaths.

Bulacan province still has the most number of recorded confirmed cases at 7,873. Pampanga is at second with 3,659, followed by Bataan at a close third with 2,651.

Zambales province had breached its 1,000 mark and now has 1,334 confirmed cases.

Aurora province, which had remained coronavirus-free for several months, now has 50 confirmed cases.

Of the 17,506 cases, the DOH said that 13,035 have already recovered. The DOH said that only 4,916 are considered active cases in the whole region.
