66-year-old lady killed as SUV rams into resto

A 66-YEAR-OLD woman died after she was hit by a sports utility vehicle (SUV) that rammed into a Susie’s Cuisine branch in Barangay Balibago, Angeles City on Tuesday, September 28, 2021.

The victim was identified as Maribel Paras Beltran, mother-in-law of Angeles University Foundation (AUF) president Joseph Angeles.

Beltran, a resident of Sta. Maria Village in Balibago, was rushed to the AUF Medical Center but declared dead on arrival by physicians due to several injuries.

A restaurant crew, Perlyn Revira, 34, from Barangay Lourdes Northwest, was injured in the accident. She is now recuperating in a hospital.

Police said the driver, Matthew Rosario Pasuquin, 29, of 51-08 Dahlia St., Timog Park in Barangay Cutcut was trying to park his vehicle, a Ford Escape, ZCJ-600 when he accidentally rammed into the shop.

Reports said Pasuguin immediately fled but was later arrested at a checkpoint along Arayat Boulevard, Barangay Pampang.

Beltran was the former director of the AUF Multi-Media Center and Publications Office and the Head of the Kumon Center-Angeles at the time of her death.
