66-year-old man dies from Covid-19

A 66-YEAR-OLD man from Barangay San Vicente, Magalang is the latest Covid-19 mortality in the municipality.

On February 23, the Municipal Health Office (MHO) reported that the patient contracted the virus and was taken to the Jose B. Lingad Memorial Regional Hospital in the City of San Fernando.

The MHO at the same time recorded one new case and two patient recoveries as of March 1, 2020.

The new patient or M201 is a 23-year-old woman from Barangay Santa Maria who is working inside the Clark Freeport.

She is set to be transferred to a facility for isolation. Her family members already started home quarantine, according to the local officials.

This brought the total number of Covid-19 patients in Magalang to 201 with 16 deaths, 172 recoveries, and 15 active cases.

The local government, under the leadership of Mayor Romy Pecson, appealed to the residents to follow minimum health standards set by the Department of Health to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
