Active Covid-19 cases in Central Luzon hit 15,518; deaths at 6,371

ACTIVE Coronavirus cases in Central Luzon reached a total of 15,518 cases, according to the latest data from the Department of Health (DOH).

The total number of deaths also increased to 6,371 cases, the DOH said.

For February 2 alone, some 919 new cases were recorded from the different provinces of Central Luzon, according to the DOH.

Of the total number of confirmed cases since the start of the pandemic, some 351,426 cases have since recovered while 330,537 remained as active cases.

Bulacan province still had the greatest number of confirmed cases at 133,958, with Pampanga registering some 67,333 confirmed cases. Bataan followed at a close third with 40,056 cases. Nueva Ecija had recorded 39,916 cases while Tarlac recorded 27,676 cases.

Some 17,857 cases have been recorded in the region in the last 14 days, according to the DOH.

Bulacan also had the greatest number of deaths in the region with 1,655 recorded, as of this posting.

Pampanga was second with 1,497 followed by Nueva Ecija with 990 deaths. Bataan also recorded a significant number of deaths at 501. Deaths from the coronavirus in Tarlac was at 541, according to the DOH tracker.
