Agri-veterinary office recognizes local, national backyard breeders

THE City Government of San Fernando, through its City Agriculture and Veterinary Office (Cavo), recently recognized local and national backyard breeders for winning and participating in the inter-barangay cock and pigeon shows that were held over the weekend at the Fourth Farm Link Expo at the Mini Convention Center of Heroes Hall.

The inter-barangay cock show was one of activities of the expo that was based on the participant’s rooster’s colors, while the other activity, the pigeon show, aimed to showcase the roosters by individuals and groups.

The winners of the inter-barangay cock show were Paul Garcia of Barangay San Nicholas (best in red), Edgar Pamposa of Barangay Sta. Lucia (best in gold), Alex Mamangun of Barangay Sta. Lucia (best in white), Dho Alejandro of Barangay Sta. Lucia (best in dom or bulik), and Mark Siytoo of Barangay Sto. Nino (best in grey).

For the group category of the pigeon show, the winners were Gerome Tan of La Union (Reverse Swing Pouter), Adrian Taal of Vigan City (Lahore), Rjay Arellano of Bataan (Arcangel), Lejen Loft Of Marilao (English Long Face Tumbler), Ron Agustin of Tarlac (Indian Fantail), Sean Erich Tan of La Union (Bokara), Garahe Phil of Bataan (Oriental Roller), Rigor Saturno of Laguna (Chinese Owl), Peter Palaganas "Peter North" of Pangasinan (American Show Racer), and Elmor Johnn of Batangas (German Beauty Homer).

Ron Agustin of Bataan (Indian Fantail) bagged first place best in the show while Lejen Loft of Marilao (English Long Face Tumbler), and Elmore Johnn of Batangas (German Beauty Homer) won second and third places for best in show, respectively.

For his part, Cavo Veterinarian and Event Organizer Ryan Paul Manlapaz congratulated the participants.

“Congratulations and continue to support the Farm Link Expo of the City Government of San Fernando headed by our City Mayor Edwin Santiago, Chairman Benerito Aldana, Cavo and our partners -- the multi-local companies,” Manlapaz said.
