A RECURRING modus operandi of scammers is victimizing residents of Apalit town, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) warned.

The scheme -- individuals pose as fire inspectors and sell "liquefied petroleum gas breakers" amounting to P6,000 supposedly as part of the fire safety campaign of the BFP.

The BFP asserted that they are in no way associated to the said group, nor to any business entity that sell or install the said product.

"Ang BFP-Apalit at ang kabuuan ng BFP ay walang kinalaman o partisipasyon sa ganitong uri ng aktibidad at walang anumang koneksyon sa alinmang business entity na nagbebenta o nag-iinstall ng mga ganitong uri ng devices," the BFP stated.

(BFP-Apalit and the whole of the BFP has no participation, involvement or connection to any business entity which sells and installs these kinds of devices.)

The agency asked the public to be wary of the said modus and if possible, not let them inside their houses for their security.

The public is also urged to immediately report to barangay offices or police station if they experience or hear of the said activity within their area.
