Central Luzon posts 89% Covid-19 recovery rate

MORE than 80,000 patients from Central Luzon have recovered from the coronavirus disease (Covid-19), the Department of Health (DOH) regional office reported on Friday, May 7.

On Friday alone, the agency logged 888 new recoveries, bringing the total number of recoveries to 80,372.

The number is equivalent to 89 percent recovery rate for the whole region, which already posted some 90,337 confirmed Covid-19 cases.

Bulacan province has the highest number of recovery with 37,120, followed by Pampanga (including Angeles City) with 20,423, and Nueva Ecija with 7,340.

Bataan province also posted 5,840 recoveries, while Tarlac had 5,279, Zambales had 3,804 and Aurora had 566.

As of May 7, Central Luzon also logged 7,877 active cases, or about 8.7 percent of the total confirmed cases, and 2,128 deaths or 2.4 percent fatality rate.
